Transfer Holleran Joins Boilermakers
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue soccer coach Drew Roff has announced that Lauren Holleran has transferred to the program for the 2021 season.
Holleran, a midfielder from Centennial, Colorado, transfers from Iowa State. She will be eligible immediately as a junior.
“Lauren’s athleticism and ability to win the ball and connect passes will be a welcome addition to our midfield,” Roff said.
“Purdue is the whole package,” Holleran said. “From academics to the coaching staff to the team and the facilities, it’s everything and more that I wanted for my college experience. The environment and culture that the coaches have created is truly one of a kind, and I really believe in everything they stand for and want to achieve. I am really excited to be at Purdue and to be able to contribute to the success of the program!”
In two seasons at Iowa State, Holleran played in all 31 matches and made 19 starts. She registered 13 shots and four shots on goal in 1,498 minutes.
As a sophomore in 2020-21, Holleran had seven shots, three on goal, in 831 minutes. She played in all 13 matches and started 12. Holleran had a career-high-tying two shots on goal in back-to-back matches, on October 30 against Kansas State and on November 6 at No. 12 Kansas. She played a season-best 106 minutes against Kansas on March 20.
In 2019 as a freshman, Holleran saw action in 18 games with seven starts. She had six shots and one shot on goal in 667 minutes. Her first career shot came on September 8 against Omaha, and she posted two shots, one on goal, at Texas on October 25.
Holleran attended Grandview High, where she won a 5A state championship and earned all-state and all-conference honors. She also helped lead Grandview to a No. 1 national ranking by TopDrawerSoccer.com. While playing for Colorado Rapids’ ECNL squad, Holleran was bestowed Northwest All-Conference accolades.
Holleran will major in selling and sales at Purdue. Her parents are Rob and Marsha, and she has one older brother.
The Boilermakers open the 2021 season with the first of two exhibition matches on August 11. The regular season commences on August 19 and Big Ten competition kicks off one month later, on Sept. 19. The complete schedule can be found here.
