Trojans Fall to IWU on Late Goal

UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor men’s soccer team held Indiana Wesleyan scoreless for over 87 minutes, but the Wildcats netted the game-winner off a corner kick in the 88th minute to hand TU a 1-0 defeat on Saturday night inside Turner Stadium.

Both squads held firm on defense throughout the opening half, as neither team could get many looks at the goal. Taylor held a slim, 6-5 edge in shots after 45 minutes of action.

In the second half, IWU gradually took control of possession and held an 8-4 advantage in shots, including the game’s only goal at the 87:09 mark.

Taylor (5-6-3, 1-5-1 CL) will return to the pitch on Wednesday, when it hosts Saint Francis (4-12, 1-6 CL) in its final home game of the regular season.
