Trojans Go Cold in Non-League Loss to Indiana Tech
UPLAND, Ind. – A competitive clash with Indiana Tech got away from the Trojans on Tuesday night inside Odle Arena, as TU scored only 14 points in the second half of a 69-45 defeat.
Taylor nearly wiped away a deficit of 33-18 on a string of triples from Kaden Fuhrmann, Jakeb Kinsey and Aaron Hahn late in the first half.
The long balls fueled an 11-2 surge from TU that pulled the Trojans within 35-31, but Indiana Tech (10-4) scored the final two of the opening half and the first 10 of the second to take control.
Taylor did not find the scoring column after the intermission until the 13:18 mark and never got back within single digits due to shooting five-of-28 from the field in the second half.
Taylor closed the game at 28.6 percent from the field and connected on just eight-of-30 shot attempts from inside the arc, getting outscored by a 42-8 margin in the paint.
Fuhrmann posted 13 points, while Hahn closed with eight. Jeff Clayton added five rebounds, three assists and one blocked shot.
Taylor (4-8) will look to get back on track when it welcomes Lincoln Christian (3-7) for the 24th-Annual Ivanhoes Silent Night Game on Friday, December 10, with tip set for 6:00 pm.
