Trojans Score 4-1 Win Over RV Judson

UPLAND, Ind. – The TU men’s soccer team handed RV Judson its first loss of the season on Saturday night, as the Trojans notched four goals before the Eagles tacked on a late goal for the 4-1 final tally.

Gonzalo Iglesias opened the scoring for Taylor at the 43:59 mark of the first half, netting a goal off the rebound from Lewis Nisbet’s missed shot to give TU the early 1-0 lead.

Freshman Zoltan Suranyi scored the first of his career-high two goals in the 24th minute from 10 yards out, courtesy of an assist from Sam Hardy.

Neither team found the back of the net the rest of the opening half, and Taylor took a 2-0 lead into intermission. The Purple and Gold dominated control in the first 45 minutes, outshooting Judson, 10-3.

The Trojans continued their dominance in the second half, as Nisbet chipped in a shot over the keeper in the 54th minute, making it a 3-0 TU lead.

Suranyi converted the fourth and final goal for Taylor, scoring on a breakaway with 20:01 remaining in the contest.

The Eagles (4-1) added a late goal in the 76th minute to make the final score of 4-1.

Taylor (3-1-2) will return to action on Friday, when it hosts Concordia (3-1) at 7:00 pm inside Turner Stadium.
