Trojans Slide Past RV Olivet Nazarene on the Road

UPLAND, Ind. – The reigning TU Athlete of the Week, Kate Kortenhoeven, notched the lone goal of Wednesday’s match, giving Taylor a 1-0 victory over RV Olivet Nazarene.

The first half belonged to the Trojans, as Taylor (5-1) managed to launch nine shots compared to the Tigers’ (3-2) five. The plethora of opportunities helped TU score near the end of the half. In the 41st minute, Kortenhoeven found the back of the net with a bending shot just pass the goalie’s outstretched arms.

The teams battled evenly through the second half, as both squads took eight shots and one corner kick.

Megan Williams posted her seventh career shutout on Wednesday, blocking all seven shots placed on-goal from the Tigers. The 1-0 final was the 14th shutout for the TU squad in the past two seasons.

The Trojans will begin a four-game homestand on Friday, facing off against Indiana Tech (4-0) at 7:00 pm.
