TU Closes Kentucky Trip with Loss to Unbeaten No. 9 Lindsey-Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. – A new-look lineup could not shake Taylor out of its recent slump, as the Trojans once again found themselves in a sizeable first-half deficit and could not battle back in an 84-63 loss at NAIA Division I No. 9 Lindsey Wilson on Saturday afternoon.

The game was close in the opening moments, with LWC (14-0) holding 12-11 edge over Taylor, before rattling off a 22-3 run to blow the game open. The hosts doubled up TU at the break by a 44-22 count and extended the margin to as many as 33 after the intermission, before settling on the final 21-point spread.

TU could not find its shooting touch once again, converting on just 24.1 percent of its attempts from the field in the first stanza, while Lindsey Wilson connected at a 60-percent clip to take control.

LWC was dominant inside throughout the game, outscoring Taylor by a 42-10 gap in the paint and holding a 42-29 edge on the glass. The Trojans connected on just nine shots inside the arc out of 31 tries in the contest.

Ryan Robinson, Vincent Miranda and James McCloud made their first collegiate starts and highlighted the afternoon for the Purple and Gold. Miranda netted a career-best 18 points on six-of-11 shooting and added four assists, four rebounds and one steal in nearly 32 minutes of work, while Robinson added 16 points and McCloud yanked down six boards.

No. 24 Taylor (9-5) will remain on the road to take on Northwestern Ohio (7-8) on Wednesday, December 20 at 3:00 pm.
