BROOKINGS, S.D.—In the inaugural season of Fire indoor track and field, two athletes made it to finals in their respective events at the national meet with the pair of runners also placing as All-Americans.
Julia Rohm and Namiah Simpson both earned All-American status with their performances earlier today. Rohm ran the 3000m race in 10:07.08, which was good enough for third in the nation and a school record in the event.
Simpson finished seventh in the country in the 400m sprint with a time of 56.57.
Kyle Manuel capped off SEU’s indoor season with a 15.30m throw in the shot put. The freshman from Spring Hill, Florida placed second in his flight and 16th overall.
The Fire will now focus their efforts on outdoor season, which begins with the Choccolocco Challenge at Jacksonville State University in Oxford, Alabama. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday.
