UIndy, S&T, Truman Garner Weekly GLVC Football Awards
INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis senior wide receiver Malik Higgins, Missouri S&T senior linebacker Bo Brooks, and Truman State University sophomore kick returner Lawrence Woods have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Malik Higgins, Indianapolis
Sr., WR, Evansville, Indiana
Major: Sports Management
Team Result: 41-14 home win vs. William Jewell
Racked up seven catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns, which tied his career high
Caught a 38-yard touchdown pass late in the first half to up the Greyhounds’ lead to 31-0
Also had a pair of 15-yard TD grabs
Now ranks fourth in UIndy annals with 24 career touchdown receptions
Earns his first career Offensive Player of the Week award

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bo Brooks, Missouri S&T
Sr., LB, Canutillo, Texas
Major: Â Petroleum Engineering
Team Result: 16-7 win at Tuskegee
Finished with a team-high nine tackles, including four quarterback sacks
One of the sacks produced a fumble in S&T territory that the Miners recovered and returned deep into Tuskegee territory, which resulted in an S&T field goal
Also had two pass breakups in the contest
Earns his first career Defensive Player of the Week award
