UIndy Sweeps Season’s First GLVC Cross Country Awards
INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis sophomores Kieffer Vittetow and Lauren Bailey have been named the season’s first Great Lakes Valley Conference Runners of the Week in men’s and women’s cross country, respectively, it was announced by the Conference office on Wednesday.
MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Kieffer Vittetow, Indianapolis
So., Cloverdale, Indiana
Major: Nursing
Team Result: 3rd/7, 70 points, Butler Twilight
- Finished eighth overall in a predominantly Division I field with a 6,000-meter time of 19 minutes, 21.2 seconds
- Guided Greyhounds to third-place finish, just two points behind runner-up IUPUI
- Earns his first career GLVC Runner of the Week award
- Last Indianapolis Runner of the Week: Alex Cushman (10/13/15)
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Bailey, Indianapolis
So., Westfield, Indiana
Major: Academic and Career Exploration
Team Result: 4th/7, 92 points, Butler Twilight
- Placed second overall in a predominantly Division I field with a 5,000-meter time of 18 minutes, 17.5 seconds
- Led Greyhounds to fourth-place finish in seven-team field
- Earns her first career GLVC Runner of the Week award
- Last Indianapolis Runner of the Week: Kieran Casey (9/9/15)
