UIndy’s Lawton Earns GLVC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Award

INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis senior guard Ajay Lawton has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for men’s basketball, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday.

Team Result:  W, 62-61 at Ashland (Nov. 21); W, 101-88 vs. Tiffin (at Ashland, Nov. 22)

  • Averaged 17.0 points on 14-of-29 (.483) shooting, 4.5 assists, 3.5 steals, 1.5 rebounds over 32 minutes of play in two in-region wins at GLIAC/GLVC Challenge
  • Tallied 16 points on 7-of-19 (.368) from the floor with four steals, three rebounds, and one assist against Ashland
  • Posted 18 points on 7-of-10 (.700) shooting with eight assists and three steals in win over Tiffin
  • Finished 5-for-8 from three-point range on the week
  • Recorded seven steals on the week to double season total to 14
  • Earns his first career Player of the Week award
  • Last Indianapolis Player of the Week: Jordan Loyd (1/25/16)
