USF holds off Pilots baseball 10-6

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Bethel College baseball team lost their third straight game on Friday afternoon, losing a Crossroads League matchup against Saint Francis 10-6 at Jenkins Stadium. Jake Wilburn led the Pilots with a 3-for-5 day at the plate.

After falling behind 2-0, the Pilots battled back with consecutive runs in the first and second to knot the score. The Cougars tacked on five runs in the third inning to take a 7-2 lead before the Pilots closed the game to 7-4 after seven.
The Cougars added an insurance three-run home run before the Pilots made it interesting in the ninth, adding two but leaving the tying run in the on-deck circle to fall 10-6.
The Pilots again left nine on runners stranded for the third consecutive game.

UP NEXT

The Pilots return to action against Saint Francis on Saturday at Jenkins Stadium with a double header scheduled for 3 pm.
