LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University women’s golf coach Steve Phelps has announced the signing of Olivia Perry to a letter of intent to join the Fire in the Fall of 2018.
Perry comes to SEU from Millsboro, Delaware, and carries a scoring average of 83. She’s won several Philly Junior Golf Tour events, and has been women’s club champion at the Peninsula Golf and Country Club.
“I chose SEU because of the spiritual atmosphere and the overall vibe that is put off by the students and staff,” said Perry. “Everyone is so friendly and Christ is clearly seen through many. I also desire to reach my fullest athletic and academic potential on and off the golf course.”
In addition to her golf skills, Perry is a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and will be a huddle leader at camp this summer. She sings in the choir at Midway Baptist Church, and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall with her school ensemble.
Perry joins a program that is currently ranked 14th in the NAIA, and will head to the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational this weekend.
