Women’s XC Finishes Second at PNW Classic, McNeal Takes Fifth
WESTVILLE, Ind. — The Purdue Northwest women’s cross country team took second place at the PNW Fall Classic Friday on the Westville campus of Purdue Northwest. Freshman Brendea McNeal (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville) ended up in fifth place with a time of 20:16.7.
The Pride ended up with four finishers in the top 15 and ended up in second place overall. Angela Gonzalez (Cedar Lake, Ind./Hanover Central) was just one spot behind McNeal with a time of 20:21.5. Freshman Emily Sarna (Cedar Lake, Ind./Hanover Central) took 13th with a time of 21:44.2.
Lucy Appelman (Portage, Ind./Portage) took 15th and got a time of 21:55.4. Junior Amanda Baker (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way Central) ended up taking 21st place with a time of 22:28.3.
Jaclyn Kindig (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte) rounded out the group for the Pride as she ended up in 54th place and crossed the finish line at 28:24.9.
