LAKEVILLE, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (11-21, 5-3 CCAC) swept their doubleheader over the Judson University Eagles (4-24, 1-5 CCAC) by final scores of 4-0 and 9-0.
Game 1
IU South Bend gained the lead in the bottom of the second inning when shortstop Jade Baker homered to center field to give the Titans a 2-0 lead.
The Titans extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Kaitlynne Allen doubled to score Haley Fair before Maddie Leisher’s sacrifice fly scored Jade Baker to extend the IUSB lead to 4-0.
Reigning CCAC Pitcher of the Week Savannah Hamilton continued her dominance by throwing her third straight shutout, allowing just four hits through seven innings while striking out five Judson Eagles.
Game 2
IU South Bend gained the lead in the first inning of game two when Abigail Yarnell hit an RBI single to score Maddie Leisher and Jordan Watts before Jozie Ramer hit a sacrifice fly to give the Titans an early 3-0 lead.
Maddie Leisher’s second inning solo home run extended the IUSB lead to 4-0.
Another home run from first baseman Jaela Patton scored Abigail Yarnell to push the lead to 6-0.
An Abigail Yarnell fly out and another Jaela Patton home run grew the Titans lead to 9-0 through four innings of play,
IU South Bend blanked Judson through the remainder of the game to secure their fifth straight shutout and secure the sweep by winning game two 9-0.
