2023-24 NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll (October 25, 2023)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – College of Idaho led the way with all 21 first-place votes in the preseason edition of the NAIA Men’s Basketball Top 25 Coaches’ Poll. The Yotes will look to repeat their national title run from a season ago at the top of the pile. Grace (Ind.) checked-in at No. 2 while Arizona Christian, Langston (Okla.) and Georgetown (Ky.) rounded-out the top five. Of that group, College of Idaho, Grace and Arizona Christian were No. 1 seeds in the 2023 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship. Georgetown, however, was the lone school other than College of Idaho that reached the semifinal round as a No. 3-seed.

Poll Methodology:

  • The NAIA Men’s Basketball Poll is for publicity purposes only and has no weight or bearing in the selection process for national championship field consideration
  • The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
  • For the first preseason poll, there is no column referencing a previous ranking, as polls are new and different from the ratings system
