2023 U.S. Collegiate Select and Under-18 Select Teams Announced
Teams Set For Three-Game Series With Canada in Lake Placid August 16, 17 and 19

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – USA Hockey announced the rosters for both the 2023 U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team and 2023 Under-18 Women’s Select Team today. The teams are set to compete in a three-game series with Canada on August 16, 17 and 19 at the Lake Placid Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.

2023 U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team
The 2023 U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team features 12 forwards, eight defenders and three goaltenders. Six players on the team are from both Minnesota and Michigan, while three players hail from New York. Two players come from Missouri, while Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas and Pennsylvania each have one player.
Three players most recently won an NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey National Championship in 2023 at the University of Wisconsin, including Kirsten Simms (Plymouth, Mich.), Casey O’Brien (Aquinnah, Mass.) and Vivian Jungels (Edina, Minn.). 2023 U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team standout Joy Dunne (O’Fallon, Mo.) is also on the roster.
“This is a talented group that we’re excited to compete with next week,” Chelsea Walkland (Rochester, N.Y), head coach of the 2023 U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team said. “We have a lot of dynamic collegiate players that we know will represent Team USA proudly.”
The U.S. Collegiate Women’ Select Team is normally referenced as the U.S. Under-22 Women’s Select Team, but due to extended collegiate eligibility, all players with collegiate eligibility were able to make the team.

2023 U.S. Under-18 Women’s Select Team
The 2023 U.S. Under-18 Women’s Select Team includes six returners, Kendra Distad (Burnsville, Minn.), Rose Dwyer (Wynnewood, Pa.), Bella Fanale (Webster, N.Y.), Layla Hemp (Chanhassen, Minn.), Maggie Scannell (Wynantskill, N.Y.) and Josie St. Martin (Stillwater, Minn.), from the 2023 U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team that took bronze at the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship.
“We’re excited for the team we’ve selected to face off against Canada next week,” Liz Keady Norton (Boston, Mass.), head coach of the 2023 U.S. Under-18 Women’s Select Team said. “This is a big first step in building our team for this year and the competitions next week are a great way to get game action under our belt.”
