2025 IFCA Good Works Team
The Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) is proud to recognize service, leadership, and character
through the 2025 IFCA Good Works Team Award. This honor was created to celebrate players, managers, and
teams who have gone above and beyond to serve others and positively impact their communities. Nominees
demonstrated extraordinary service during the past calendar year, whether through consistent, ongoing
outreach efforts or by taking the initiative to organize meaningful one-time events. The IFCA believes these
acts of service reflect the core values of high school football and highlight the powerful role the sport plays in
developing responsible, community-minded leaders. All honorees will be formally recognized and presented
with a Good Works Team certificate.

For 2025, the IFCA has honored two individuals and 15 teams whose commitment to service truly stood out.
These honorees represent schools across the state and have impacted their communities through youth
mentorship, charitable outreach, community improvement projects, and support for those in need. The two
individual recipients exemplify leadership, selflessness, and moral character, serving as role models both on
and off the field. Together with the 15 teams selected, this year’s Good Works Team showcases the positive
influence Indiana high school football continues to have beyond the game.

Landon Guerra, Park Tudor School
Landon Guerra, Class of 2026 at Park Tudor School, is a two-year Team Captain and co-president of the
Christian Student Union, where he exemplifies servant leadership. Through his involvement in football and
CSU, Landon has organized meaningful service opportunities that encourage students to donate their time
and talents to important causes. Most notably, he helped establish and lead annual Feed My Starving
Children packing events, engaging students, school organizations, and the broader community. In October
2024, these efforts resulted in the packaging of 22,248 meals during a 90-minute session. Landon also played
a key role in expanding the initiative throughout Central Indiana, coordinating events at his family’s daycare
facility over the past two years. His leadership has united more than 100 volunteers and brought the mission
of service and inclusivity into action.

Dawson Shreve, La Porte High School
Dawson Shreve of La Porte High School has demonstrated an exceptional and long-standing commitment to
service through his annual mission trips to Belize. Each summer, Dawson travels with his church to help build
homes, including houses for widows and missionaries, while also supporting Vacation Bible School and other
outreach efforts. He has participated in this mission every year during his time as a Slicer football player,
continuing a family legacy of service and faith. Despite demanding football commitments, Dawson prioritizes
this work, even missing portions of team camp to fulfill his service calling. His efforts require long days of
manual labor in challenging conditions, reflecting both physical dedication and strong character. Dawson’s
consistent leadership and selflessness make him a model of moral integrity, service, and benevolence within
the La Porte football program and community.

Danville Football Team
Throughout the 2025 season, the Danville Warriors Football team demonstrated a strong commitment to
community service by participating in several impactful projects. Players worked together to clean up trash
along US 36, assisted with an outdoor project at the Danville Conservation Club, and hosted a Safe Trick-or
Treat event for young members of the community. The senior class led each initiative, taking responsibility for
planning, organizing transportation, and ensuring successful execution. Their leadership set a high standard
for accountability, pride, and participation. Underclassmen supported these efforts with enthusiasm and a
team-first mindset, helping bring each one-time service event to completion. Collectively, the team
represented the Danville Football program with character and pride beyond the field.

Covington Football Team
The Covington Trojans Football team demonstrated a strong commitment to community service throughout
the off-season and competitive season by leading numerous volunteer initiatives in Covington, Indiana.
During the summer, players supported town beautification efforts by watering community flowers for the
Coffeenians women’s philanthropic organization. During the school year, the team connected with younger
students by eating lunch with Covington Elementary students, serving as positive role models and potential
mentors. The Trojans also played a major role in Marilyn’s Fun Fest, a large event supporting adults with
disabilities, where players handled parking, trash, activity monitoring, and full event setup and teardown. In
addition, team members volunteered weekly with Covington Youth Football and assisted at the rededication
of the Cade’s Mill Covered Bridge. Through both recurring and one-time service projects, the entire team
shared responsibility for giving back, reinforcing the program’s focus on developing young men who value
service and community leadership.

NorthWood Football Team
NorthWood football has actively partnered with the community through a wide range of service and outreach
opportunities throughout the year. Players participated in annual events such as the Maple Syrup Festival,
Apple Festival, and Miracle on Main Parade, where they engaged with community members through parades,
volunteering, and hands-on support. The team also initiated and supported an annual blood drive with the
Indianapolis Colts, contributing directly to local blood banks. Throughout the football season, players
volunteered with the NorthWood Youth Football League, helping with games and serving as role models for
younger athletes. Beyond athletics, team members built beds for children in need through Sleep in Heavenly
Peace and participated monthly in the Panther Pals mentorship program at local elementary schools. These
opportunities encouraged team-wide involvement, strengthened relationships within the community, and
deepened the players’ appreciation for the support they received.

Westfield Football Team
The Westfield High School football team demonstrated a strong commitment to service by participating in
numerous community outreach efforts throughout the year. Players supported food insecurity initiatives by
donating, sorting, and transporting food through multiple Open Doors Food Drives, Stuff the Bus events, and
by loading a semitruck of donated items for families in need. They served as mentors and role models by
assisting elementary and middle school students with literacy activities, fitness camps, youth football events,
and ongoing strength training programs. The team also helped staff and support school and community
events, including the Innovation Competition, After Prom, Wellness Day, and Rock the Block. Beyond
organized events, players volunteered their time to help a family move into a new home and assisted with
memorial and charity events such as Be Like Finn Night. Through these efforts, the team consistently gave
back, strengthened community connections, and positively represented Westfield High School.

Rensselaer Central Football Team
The Rensselaer Central varsity football team, led by Landon Musch, demonstrated a strong commitment to
serving their community through several team-focused service projects this past year. In late September, over
half of the roster volunteered to help set up downtown Rensselaer for the annual Octoberfest, transforming
the area in preparation for the event. During Christmas break, Landon and several teammates also committed
two days to assisting a local hotel with the removal and replacement of hundreds of mattresses. In addition,
Parker Northcutt and Holden Day volunteered throughout the spring and summer to help maintain the football
field while Coach Meeks recovered from knee replacement surgery. These players consistently stepped up to
lead by example, encouraging team-wide participation and service. Overall, the Bombers’ efforts reflect a
strong culture of teamwork, leadership, and community support.

Columbia City Football Team
The Columbia City football team has made a lasting impact in their school community through their
continued participation in Read Across America Day. Players visit all four elementary schools to read Dr.
Seuss books and promote a love of reading among younger students. This outreach has become a valued
team tradition, reinforcing the importance of literacy and positive role modeling. The team participates twice
each year—once during the first semester and again during Read Across America Day in the second semester.
Participation is earned through players demonstrating dedication to their own academics and learning.
Through this program, the team strengthens connections across schools while emphasizing the value of
education alongside athletics.

East Noble Football Team
The East Noble football team is deeply committed to serving its community through a wide range of service
projects throughout the year. One of their largest efforts is participating twice annually in Noble County Clean
Up Day, where players partner with Noble County Disposal to assist with trash and junk removal in
Kendallville and Avilla. Team members begin early in the morning, riding on dump trucks and helping load
debris to keep their communities clean. In addition, the team has volunteered to help local families move into
new homes and worked concession stands at sporting events. Players also give back by coaching youth and
flag football and supporting the East Noble youth football camp. Through these consistent efforts, the entire
team actively contributes to the community that continually supports them.

Indian Creek Football Team
The Indian Creek football team demonstrated strong leadership and community commitment by volunteering
to coach and officiate the NFL Youth Flag League during the spring season. Over seven consecutive Sundays,
varsity players dedicated their time to working with K–6th grade students to help grow the game of football
within the Indian Creek community. Stepping in to fill a shortage of volunteers, the team ensured the league’s
success through consistent and enthusiastic participation. Players served as coaches and officials, creating
meaningful connections with younger athletes who looked up to them. Their involvement resulted in positive
growth for the youth flag program and strengthened the Bantam League. The level of participation and
teamwork from the varsity players made a lasting impression on families and league organizers alike.

Mt. Vernon Football Team
The Mt. Vernon Marauders football program made a meaningful impact on their community and schools
through several service-focused events during the year. Players volunteered at two Friday Night Lights events,
in December and April, where they led drills, competitions, and stations for K–4 students, serving as mentors
to future Marauders. The April event also helped promote spring interest and registration for the youth football
program. Mt. Vernon football additionally partnered with the Indianapolis Colts as one of 25 host sites for a
summer blood drive, supporting an important community health need. The team and their families also
donated school supplies, filling 25 backpacks that were distributed to elementary and intermediate schools
in the district. Through these volunteer-based efforts, the program consistently provided opportunities for
players to give back and strengthen connections within their community.

Martinsville Football team
The Martinsville football team demonstrated strong community leadership through meaningful service
projects during the school year. Players partnered with Martinsville Habitat for Humanity, with several team
members serving on the planning board and the team participating in a Saturday build to help construct the
foundation of a local home. Their efforts contributed to the home’s completion during the first semester,
allowing a family to move in soon. In addition, the team served as lead ambassadors for the Morgan County
Unified Track Meet, helping plan and run the event. Players either participated in events or were paired with
special needs students, supporting them throughout the day as sponsors and teammates. Through these
initiatives, the Martinsville football team showed a commitment to inclusion, teamwork, and making a lasting
impact in their community.

Plainfield Football Team
The Plainfield High School football program demonstrated strong community involvement through two
impactful service initiatives during the summer. Players volunteered at Crestpoint Real Estate’s 4th Annual
Community Day, assisting with event setup, youth activities, vendor support, trash management, and event
teardown, helping ensure a successful community celebration that raised funds for the Plainfield Youth
Assistance Program. Eighteen players volunteered their time throughout the event, with team members
actively engaging families and children while supporting local organizations. In addition, the football program
hosted its annual blood drive in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana and the Indianapolis Colts.
Through the efforts of players, coaches, parents, and community members, the drive collected 12 units of
blood, positively impacting 36 patients. These initiatives reflect the program’s commitment to service,
leadership, and making a meaningful difference in the Plainfield community.

West Lafayette Football Team
The West Lafayette football team and coaching staff demonstrated a strong commitment to community
connection by visiting Westminster Village assisted living during the summer. Players spent time building
relationships with residents by playing games, exercising together, and passing out treats, creating a positive
and welcoming experience. This outreach has become a meaningful tradition over the past two seasons,
strengthening the bond between the team and the residents. Westminster Village, located across from the
football complex, is also invited to attend a home game where residents cheer from the track and high-five
players as they take the field. The visit was coordinated by team parents in partnership with Westminster
staff. Through these efforts, the team brought joy to residents while reinforcing values of respect, service, and
community pride.

Fairfield Football Team
The Fairfield football team demonstrated a strong commitment to service by completing several impactful
community projects throughout the year. During the summer, players volunteered at Camp Watcha-Wanna
Do, carrying luggage, playing games, and supporting youth patients battling cancer. In December, the team
partnered with the Marine Corps League for the Toys for Tots campaign, collecting gifts and assembling more
than 100 bicycles for families in need. Throughout the fall season, players also assisted elderly community
members and widows by raking leaves and trimming trees. All projects were completed as a full team,
emphasizing unity and shared responsibility. Through these efforts, Fairfield football players learned the
importance of selflessness while making a meaningful difference in their community.

Jimtown Football Team
The Jimtown football team has made community service a year-round priority by consistently volunteering in a
wide variety of local projects. Players have supported initiatives such as the Granger Community Church Food
Drop, the Gymtown Pantry, Champions Together, and multiple school athletic events and concessions. The
team also gives back to younger athletes by volunteering with the Jimtown Youth Football League throughout
the fall season. In partnership with the Baugo Lions Club, players helped with the Pancake & Sausage
Breakfast and the Building Beds Project, providing beds for children in need. While these opportunities were
not created by the team, players actively seek out ways to serve and consistently step up when called upon.
Through their regular involvement and positive attitude, Jimtown football players strengthen community pride
and set a strong example of service and teamwork.

William Henry Harrison (WL) Football Team
The William Henry Harrison (West Lafayette) football team demonstrated outstanding community
commitment through consistent service efforts led by Coach Tracy Brown. From May through October, players
contributed 182 volunteer hours across a wide range of community events and initiatives. Their service
included supporting veterans through events such as Vets Roll, Veterans Honor Flight, and flag placement at
Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. The team also assisted with community programs including a cancer survivor
brunch, Wabash River Fest, and the Tippecanoe County Tire Recycling Event. In addition, players helped
support the school’s newly established girls flag football program by working scoreboards, chains, tickets,
and concessions. Through Coach Brown’s servant leadership, the Raider football team willingly gave back and
made a meaningful impact on their community throughout the season.
