2025 NAIA Women’s Tennis National Championship Day One Recap

MOBILE, Ala. – [Bracket | Schedule] The First Round of the UTR NAIA Women’s Tennis National Championship concluded on Tuesday at the Mobile Tennis Center, with seven of eight higher seeds advancing to Wednesday’s second Round.

Four of the matches ended in a 4-0 sweep, and one match ended with a nail-biting 4-3 finish.

GAME NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS

Tennessee Wesleyan swept McPherson (Kan.) for the Bulldogs to gain their seventh win in the National Tournament and improve to 7-5.
The Racers of Northwestern Ohio advance from a 4-1 victory over Dillard (La.), who advanced to the second round after losing to St. Thomas (Fla.) last year in the first round.
The Saints of Holy Cross (Ind.) went to the wire with the Owls of William Woods (Mo.) and won 4-3 for the Saints’ first win in program history at the National Tournament.
LSU-Alexandria (La.) defeated Bethel (Ind.) 4-0 to improve to 11-9 in their 10th appearance at the National Tournament.
Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) bested Oakland City (Ind.) 4-1 in their first win and match in the National Tournament.
The Marian (Ind.) Knights are the only team of the Crossroads League to advance to the second round after sweeping Concordia (Neb.) 4-0.
Xavier (La.) bounced back after trailing in singles to defeat OUAZ (Ariz.) 4-1 with wins in the doubles point, one singles, three singles, four singles, and five singles.
SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) moves on to face SCAD Savannah (Ga.) in the second round by sweeping Oklahoma Wesleyan 4-0.
