Mishawaka, Ind. – Coach Seth Zartman and the Bethel College baseball team is excited to announce the addition of former Monmouth United (Ill.) star Mason Love to the program beginning in the 2017-18 season. Mason will enter Bethel as a sophomore transfer from IU South Bend and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Love batted .280 with one home run, nine doubles, and 26 RBIs this past spring for South Bend.

Mason chose Bethel because “it gave me the best chance to succeed in the classroom as well as on the field.”

Mason, the son of Michael Love and Dorothy Love-Lair, earned First Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Region as a standout prep at Monmouth United in Monmouth, Ill. Love batted .464 with six home runs, 10 doubles, and 33 RBIs as a senior, while primarily playing third basemen and catcher.

“We are very glad to add Mason to our roster starting this fall,” commented Head Coach Seth Zartman, entering his fifteenth season at the helm of the baseball program. “He brings with him a year of experience already at the collegiate level and will be a great addition to the depth of our infield.  We are looking forward to having Mason in our locker room and working with him on the field.”
