22nd-Ranked Trojans Roll to 44-Point Win at Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. – The 22nd-ranked Taylor women’s basketball team netted the first seven points on Saturday and led wire-to-wire in its 84-40 win at Goshen.

TU led 18-9 after the first period, thanks to a 15-2 run over the opening six minutes, and built up a 40-14 lead by halftime.

A 30-13 third-quarter scoring advantage gave the Purple and Gold a 70-26 lead after 30 minutes of action, and the Trojans cruised to the 84-40 win.

Taylor converted 28 of its 58 shot attempts for a 48.3-percent clip, while holding Goshen to just 27.8 percent (15-54) shooting from the floor in the blowout win. TU posted a season-high 18 steals and a 43-27 rebounding advantage over the Maple Leafs (1-18, 0-8 CL) to further highlight Saturday’s dominant performance.

All 12 Trojans logged at least 13 minutes on the court, with 11 cracking the scoring column. Kendall Bradbury recorded her 18th-consecutive 20-point performance to lead the scoring, as the All-American scored 22 points on eight-of-12 (66.7 percent) shooting from the floor and three-of-four from three-point land.

Freshman Lauren James notched a career-high 13 points, topping her previous career-best output of five points from three days ago in the win over No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan. Josie Cobb added 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals, Cassidy Wyse tallied nine points and seven boards, and Abby Buchs provided eight points and a career-high four steals for the victors.

Haley Stratman and Kiara Nieto each pulled down six rebounds apiece off the bench, with Stratman adding seven points, while Jamie Netzley produced five points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

No. 22 Taylor (13-7, 6-2 CL) will return to Odle Arena for its next contest, hosting Bethel (6-13, 1-6 CL) on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
