Undefeated Sooners take over No. 1 in latest NFCA/GoRout DI Top 25 Coaches Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Undefeated Oklahoma took over the No. 1 ranking from Texas in the latest 2025 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. It marked the first time this season the Sooners (22-0) are atop the rankings following a three-game sweep of new-No. 9 South Carolina in the Southeastern Conference opener.

OU, making its SEC debut at home against the Gamecocks, came out on the winning end of three one-run contests (10-9, 10-9, 2-1). The two programs had entered the series as the only two undefeated teams left in the Top 25. The Gamecocks (20-3) had defeated Youngstown State in a mid-week contest to match their best start in program history (20-0 / 1976).
