• Indiana shot 57.6 percent from the floor behind 26 points from graduate student guard Ali Patberg in a 93-61 win at Illinois on Wednesday. Senior forward Aleksa Gulbe added 18 points while freshman guard Kaitlin Peterson added a career-high 11 points on three 3-pointers to extend its win streak over the Illini to 13 games.
• Patberg moved into ninth-place in all-time scoring at IU in the win on Wednesday, passing Jamie Braun with 1,613 career points scored. She also ranks third in program history in assists (486).
• As national awards begin narrowing down its watch lists, Indiana’s Grace Berger and Mackenzie Holmes each made appearances on respective national positional award list this week. Berger is on the top 10 watch list for the 2022 Cheryl Miller Award for nation’s top small forward and Holmes earned a spot on the 2022 Lisa Leslie Award top 10 for nation’s top center She was also one of seven nationally added to the 2022 Wade Trophy watch list and to the 2022 Naismith Trophy midseason watch list. Both awards recognize the nation’s best player.
• IU came in at No. 8 in the NCAA Tournament committee’s second of three top 16 reveals on Feb. 10 If the season ended today, the Hoosiers would be eyeing a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament according to the national selection committee.
