Kentucky, Mississippi State and Boston College all dropped out of the poll after suffering losses. Those teams were replaced by Utah State (first-time in the poll this season), Florida and Penn State. Texas moved up two slots to No. 13 after a road victory at Texas Tech.
The SEC led all leagues with four teams in the poll. The Big 12 and Big Ten had three each, and the ACC had two. The American, Independents, Mountain West and Pac-12 had one team each in the poll.
