LAKELAND, Fla.—Following an offensive outburst by his team last week, Southeastern senior third baseman Ivan Nunez was named The Sun Conference Player of the Week.

The top-ranked Fire baseball team went 5-0, scored 93 runs in 33 innings of play with Nunez posting a .667 batting average, and a 1.444 slugging percentage. The Miami native had multiple hits in all five games, and totaled 10 runs scored and 14 RBIs.

Nunez homered twice against Edward Waters, and had one against USCB during its conference series.

With 41 total bases, Nunez ranks second in the NAIA, and his 21 total hits also ranks in the top 10 nationally.

The Fire take on the Detroit Tigers in an exhibition game on Friday.
