Men’s Basketball – DII – Mon, Feb. 18, 2019 at 9:45 AM

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Entering Saturday’s game versus Calumet College of St. Joseph, Bryce Crosen was five points shy of becoming the Holy Cross College men’s basketball all-time scoring leader. Crosen wasted no time breaking the record by scoring six early points in the first half. He finished the game with 19 points, surpassing Zoe Bauer (2011-2015) and now has a career 1,080 points.

Crosen, from Springboro, Oho, is a senior and captain on the men’s basketball team. For his career he has averaged 9.5 points per game. During his rookie campaign, Crosen scored 271 points while shooting 56% from the field and pulling down 5.2 rebounds per game. In his sophomore season, he averaged 9.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game and last season he recorded 5.2 points and 3.1 rebounds. Currently, he is averaging 13.3 points per game and 7.6 rebounds. He ranks 9th in the nation with shooting 59% from the field.

Crosen also ranks first in the Holy Cross College men’s basketball record book with career field goals made (441), second in total defensive rebounds (442), and third in career field goal percentage (54%) and total rebounds (600). He is the first Saints men’s basketball player to garner 1,000+ career points and 600+ career rebounds.

Behind Crosen, men’s basketball finished the regular season with an overall record of 20-10, which ties the school record. The Saints finished 14-6 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference and are the two seed in the conference tournament. Holy Cross will host the CCAC quarterfinal game this Tuesday, February 19, when they take on 7th seed Cardinal Stritch University. Tipoff is set for 7:00pm in McKenna Arena.
