Maryland Earns Share of Big Ten Women’s Basketball Title

Terrapins claim piece of fourth conference crown in five years

 

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Maryland secured a share of the Big Ten Conference women’s basketball title on Monday with a 58-55 win at Purdue. It’s the Terrapins’ fourth Big Ten championship in their five years as a conference member.

Maryland (25-3, 14-3 Big Ten) holds a one-game lead in the Big Ten standings with one game remaining. The Terrapins can clinch the outright Big Ten title on Saturday with a win at home against Illinois (2 p.m. ET on BTN Plus).

The 26th Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will be played March 6-10 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Games on the first four days of the tournament (first round through semifinals) will be televised on BTN, and available on the FOX Sports app as well as BTN’s digital extension, BTN2Go. ESPN2 will once again broadcast the tournament championship game on March 10.

 

All-session and single-session tickets for the 2019 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament are on sale at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse box office, Ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 800-745-3000. Single-session ticket prices vary from $8 to $16 depending on the session, while all-session tickets are available for $75. Other than suites and the fan blocks for that university’s respective games, the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament features general admission seating, allowing fans to witness the action from the best available seats at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
