Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | February 25-March 3

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the top athletes from the week of February 25 through March 3. Sports Information Directors from the league nominate student-athletes for the award and vote on each week’s winners.
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kyle Mangas, Indiana Wesleyan
Mangas played all 40 minutes and poured in 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals to push No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan to a 76-70 win over No. 11 MVNU in the Crossroads League Tournament Championship. Mangas scored 20 points after the intermission and ended 10-of-20 from the field.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kendall Bradbury, Taylor
Bradbury lifted No. 6 Taylor to its first Crossroads League Tournament Championship since 1998 with 24 points, five rebounds and three assists in TU’s 86-61 win over No. 8 Marian. Bradbury shot seven-of-10 from the field and eight-of-nine from the charity stripe.
Baseball Player of the Week
TJ Bass, Taylor
Bass helped Taylor to a 4-1 week that included a series win over No. 22 Indiana Tech by hitting .364 with one home run, one double and five runs batted in. The freshman also walked four times, scored a trio of runs and posted a .727 slugging percentage.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Noah Huseman, Taylor
Huseman went 2-0 with seven scoreless innings of relief for the Trojans in wins over Alice Lloyd and No. 22 Indiana Tech. The righty allowed only three base runners for a 0.43 WHIP in the two outings.
Softball Player of the Week
Lauren Kanai, Taylor
Kanai sparked RV Taylor’s offense in a four-game sweep at Indiana Southeast, batting .600 with four runs, one triple, one home run and five runs batted in. Kanai reached base at a .692 clip and posted an OPS of 1.792.
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Jessica Doctor, Taylor
Doctor was a force inside the circle for RV TU in its four-game sweep at IU Southeast going 1-0 with two saves in 12 scoreless innings over three outings. Doctor posted a .128 average against and a 0.50 WHIP, while fanning nine.
