GOSHEN, Ind. — The Goshen College athletic department and head women’s volleyball coach Kourtney Crawford announced the addition of another pair of local freshmen, Gwyn Bellamy and Jadyn Kaufmann, on Wednesday.
Gwyn Bellamy
Defensive Specialist
Warsaw, Indiana
Warsaw Community HS
Bellamy was an academic all-state selection for the Tigers, who won a Class 4A sectional championship during her junior season.
“We are so excited to have Gwyn on our roster!” said Crawford. “Her volleyball IQ and determination makes her a threat on the floor. She knows the game and does it really well. Gwyn is a natural leader; she will lead our team by example.”
“I chose Goshen because of the welcoming environment, the amazing volleyball team, and the biology department!,” said Bellamy.
Bellamy is the daughter of Melissa Bellamy and the sister of Maygan. She plans to study molecular biology.
Jadyn Kaufmann
Setter
Goshen, Indiana
Bethany Christian High School
Kaufmann played for coach Lois Mast at Bethany Christian High School, where she set the school record for assists in a career and won the Team Player Award. She also played basketball, winning awards for sportsmanship and character, and graduated with high honors.
“We are so lucky to have Jadyn, a Goshen local, on our team!” Crawford said. “She is hardworking and willing to give 100% in all she does. Jadyn has great hands and a strong court awareness. She has a high IQ on and off the court which will be very helpful to our program.”
“I chose Goshen because it would allow me to further my academic and athletic careers in meaningful ways that also provide space to nurture and deepen my faith,” Kaufmann said.
Kaufmann is the daughter of Cynthia and Eric Good Kaufmann and sister to Rilynn. She intends to major in nursing and minor in Spanish.
Meet the Maple Leafs will continue throughout the summer, introducing the new members of Goshen’s Class of 2024 as well as incoming transfer students.
