Ohio State, Purdue and Rutgers Earn Baseball Weekly Honors
Scarlet Knights’ Lasko named Player of the Week; Boilermakers’ Smeltz earned Pitcher of the Week; Buckeyes’ Lipsey tabbed Freshman of the Week

Player of the Week
Ryan Lasko, Rutgers
OF – So. – Jackson, N.J. – Jackson Memorial

• Hit .444 with three home runs, seven RBI and eight runs scored to lead Rutgers to a 4-0 week, including a series sweep at Nebraska, and its 10th straight win
• Was 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs, three RBI and three runs scored for his first career multi-home run game on April 8, leading the Scarlet Knights to a 7-5 win in the series opener vs. the Cornhuskers
• Went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a career-high four runs scored in a 19-1 series-finale win in Lincoln
• Wins his first career Big Ten Player of the Week award

• Struck out 13 of 27 batters faced to lead Purdue to its first shutout win since 2019
• Posted his fourth double-figure strikeout total of the season and the most strikeouts by a Boilermaker pitcher since 2010
• Improved to 6-2 on the season with an ERA of 2.66 and 64 strikeouts in 44.0 innings pitched
• The two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree wins his first career Big Ten Pitcher of the Week award

• Posted a .667 on-base percentage, a .867 slugging percentage and has not committed an error in 39 chances in the outfield
