GOODIN POWERS WILDCATS TO NAIA WORLD SERIES

KINGSTON, TN. – Indiana Wesleyan baseball advanced to the 2023 NAIA Baseball World Series for the first time in program history with a 7-6 victory over Missouri Baptist. It took until the bottom of the final inning to decide the game as Caleb Engelsman drew a walk with bases loaded to send IWU to Lewiston. Lucas Goodin came up big all game, hitting a lead off home run in the first and regaining the lead for the Wildcats with a three run bomb in the seventh.

Final Score: IWU def. MBU 7-6

Lucas Goodin got IWU started with a lead off homerun.
In the 3rd inning, Colby Jenkins drove in MJ Stavola to extend the lead to 2-0.

The Spartans stole momentum and scored 4 straight runs across the 4th and 6th innings.
Goodin put the Wildcats back on top with a 3 run bomb to right field, scoring Bryce Ginder and Caleb Engelsman. Evan Salmon made it back-to-back homers with a shot to left field.

Missouri Baptist scored 2 runs in the 8th to tie the game at 6.
The Wildcats loaded the bases in the 9th with 2 outs when Caleb Engelsman stepped to the plate. With a full count Engelsman drew ball four sending the Wildcats to Lewiston, Idaho for the NAIA World Series.
