Valpo Football Announces Week 9 Team Awards
The Valparaiso University football program has announced its team awards for Week 9 of the season following this past weekend’s Hoosier Helmet rivalry game in Indianapolis.

Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Brett Gray (Vancouver, Wash. / Skyview) has been named the team’s Offensive Player of the Week, while junior defensive back Colin Graves (Seattle, Wash. / Bishop Blanchet) has earned the team’s Defensive Player of the Week award. In addition, Graves has been recognized with the Hammer Hit. He enjoyed a double-figure tackle output with 10 including seven solos.

The Beacons have also honored the following Scout Team Players of the Week – freshman Caron Tyler (Temecula, Calif. / Chaparral) on offense, freshman Nic Lendino (Naperville, Ill. / Neuqua Valley) on defense and redshirt freshman Alex Goworowski (Chicago, Ill. / Saint Patrick) on special teams.

Valpo will return to action on Saturday by hosting Dayton at 1 p.m. at Brown Field.
