IUSB MBB earns quality road win at USF (IN)

FORT WAYNE, Ind.- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (2-0, 0-0 CCAC) defeated the Saint Francis University Cougars (2-2, 0-0) by a final score of 90-82.

The IU South Bend offense featured four different Titans to record double digit points, led by junior guard Quentez Columbus who lead all scorers with 26 points.

Columbus’ 26 points came on better than 60% shooting from the field and 5-7 shooting from the free throw line while knocking down one of the two three point field goals that he attempted.

Next in line in scoring for the Titans was senior forward Dejon Barney who finished with 16 points.

Barney’s 16 points came on an efficient shooting performance from all parts of the floor, shooting 6-8 from the field and better than 60% from both the three point and free throw line. Barney also led IUSB on the glass, hauling in 11 rebounds to record his first double-double of the year.

Senior guard Micah Poole finished with a total of 14 points, his second consecutive game scoring double figures to begin the season.

The last IU South Bend Titan to score in double figures was junior forward Jylen Petty who finished Saturday’s contest with 12 points.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, November 8th, when they travel to Holy Cross College to take on the Bethel University Pilots at at 5:00 PM.
