MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Bethel Pilots are the Crossroads League Tournament champions for the 11th time in program history and the third consecutive year after a double-overtime thriller 2-1 on Saturday.

It was a neck-and-neck affair, with both sides having equal opportunities, but the Pilots had an early goal by Andres Lucumi called back on an offside call that fired up the Pilots in the 20th minute.

Piero Sabroso put the Pilots up on a penalty kick in the 76th minute, shot left, and found the back of the net 1-0.

As the final minutes winded down, the Lancers tied the game in the 88th minute with a pass in the box to force overtime.

The first overtime was silent, but Tim Noeding found Luan Bressy in a contested pass and acrobatic kick to win the Crossroads League Tournament Championship for the third year in a row.

Bressy scored his fifth goal this season along with six assists, Tim Noeding tallied his eighth assist, and Piero Sabroso scored his 11th goal this season. With 11 goals, Sabroso has set a career record of 11 goals in a single season.

The Pilots are now 33-25-2 all-time and 15-3-1 at Morey Field against the Lancers and hold a three-game winning streak.

Both teams have a chance to host the NAIA First and Second Round and will know their NAIA playoff situation on Monday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. for the NAIA Selection Show, which can be found at naia.org.
