IUSB baseball drops Florida trip opener to Rochester

AUBURNDALE, Fla- The Indiana University South Bend Titans (7-7, 0-0 CCAC) fell in game one of their spring trip to the Rochester University Warriors (6-8) by a final score of 15-4

The Titans jumped out to an early lead when Kaleb Farnham drove in a run on a sacrifice fly before Logan Smith’s second inning RBI double and shortstop Jack Ryan’s two RBI double grew the IU South Bend lead to 4-0.

Rochester University answered in the fourth inning with four runs of their own, tying the game at 4-4 heading into the fifth inning.

10 Warrior runs in the fifth inning broke the game open for Rochester, before one last run in the seventh inning ended the game early with Rochester University taking game one of the spring trip by a final score of 15-4.

The IU South Bend offense was led by Logan Smith, Anthony Pohl, and Josiah Nelson who all finished with two hits while shortstop Jack Ryan led the Titans with two runs batted in.

The Indiana University South Bend Titans return to action on Wednesday, March 6th, when they continue their spring trip by taking on Valley City State University (S.D.) at 3:15 PM ET in Auburndale, Florida.
