MISHAWAKA, Ind. — The Bethel Pilots (11-35, 6-30) celebrated their 11 seniors, counting two managers, in the final doubleheader of the season against the Grace Lancers (18-30, 12-24) on Thursday.

GAME 1

Senior starting pitcher Ty Mickiewicz pitched two scoreless innings until a two-RBI single in the third broke the silence and gave the Lancers the lead 2-0.

Grace laced a two-run home run in the fifth, growing their lead to 4-0. They then plated two more runs in the seventh before Dominic Deisler roped in two runs to end the dry spell.

The Lancers sealed their eighth seed for the Crossroads League Tournament with a 6-2 win in game one.

In the final start of his collegiate career, Ty Mickiewicz pitched six innings, allowing eight hits and four runs, walking three, and striking out two batters.

GAME 2

The Lancers wasted no time and scored the first run of the game from an RBI single in the first and another in the second to take an early 2-0 lead. In the fourth, Grace plated their third run after an error by the shortstop and the fourth run on an RBI single, growing their advantage to 4-0.

Jesse Stout broke the dry spell with an RBI double to score Cooper Tolson, and Dominic Deisler scored stout with an RBI double of his own.

The Lancers scored one last run in the top of the sixth, and Bethel answered with Tolson’s RBI single to bring in Ta’Shaun Coleman, but they fell short 5-3 in their final game of the year.

The Pilots will be back in action next February for the 2025 season.
