Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | April 29-May 5

 

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top individual performances from April 29 through May 5. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.

Baseball Player of the Week
Dawson Estep, Marian
Estep hit .467 for Marian through the first four games of the Crossroads League Tournament. The senior also had four extra-base hits, nine runs batted in and three runs scored for the Knights.

 

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Davis Enfield, Marian
Enfield picked up two wins on the bump for sixth-seeded Marian to help the Knights into Monday’s final day of games in the CL Tournament. Enfield worked into the seventh in each of his starts, posted a 3.38 ERA and fanned 11 batters.

 

Softball Player of the Week
Savannah Harweger, Marian
Harweger hit .615 for No. 8 Marian during its run to the CL Tournament Championship. The senior shortstop reached based at a .667 clip over MU’s four games, scoring eight runs and adding one homer and four RBI.

 

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Olivia Stunkel, Marian
Stunkel led No. 8 Marian to the CL Tournament Championship by earning three wins in the circle for the Knights. Stunkel ended the week 3-0 with a 3.11 earned-run average over 18 innings of work.

 

Men’s Outdoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Tristan Trevino, Marian
Trevino scored individual victories in the 800-meters and 4×800-meter relay for Marian during its charge to the CL Championship. Trevino’s times were good for new MU program records in each event.

 

Men’s Outdoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Isaiah Tipping, Marian
Tipping was named the Most Outstanding Male Field Athlete of the Crossroads League Championships after leading MU to a dominant team title. Tipping took individual titles in the hammer and discus and also was top-three in the shot put.

 

Women’s Outdoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Ally Hawk, Indiana Wesleyan
Hawk raced to a pair of individual Crossroads League Championships, winning the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles for Indiana Wesleyan. In addition to the titles, Hawk set new IWU program records in each event.

 

Women’s Outdoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Kiana Siefert, Taylor
Siefert scored in five events for Taylor at the Crossroads League Championships and was named the meet’s Most Valuable Field Athlete. Siefert won CL titles in the long jump and high jump, while finishing top-three in the 100-meter hurdles and 4×100-meter relay.

 

Women’s Golfer of the Week
Sidney Parmer, Marian

Parmer posted scores of 74, 79 and 70 to lead the field at the 2024 Crossroads League Championships. Parmer’s performance helped No. 8 Marian to the team title.
