Record fourth straight end-of-season No. 1 for Oklahoma 2024 USA Today/NFCA DI Top 25Coaches Poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Behind a record-setting fourth straight national championship, Oklahoma is the first program to end the season No. 1 four years in a row. The unanimous top-ranked team en route to the final 2024 USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll boasted a 10-1 postseason record onto the Sooners’ (59-7) eighth Women’s College World Series crown.
OU completed the most dominant four-year span in NCAA Division I history with a two-game sweep of Texas in the WCWS Championship Series, the 33rd win over the Longhorns in the last 36 meetings. Over the last four years, the Sooners posted a 235-15 overall record which was good for a .940 winning percentage.
No. 2 Texas finished as national runners-up for the second time in three seasons. The Longhorns (55-10) earned the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 overall seed and finished with an 8-3 record in the postseason. They were ranked No. 1 the last five weeks of the regular season. Texas set a program record for victories and was the third team to reach the 50-win plateau.
