The IHSAA and the IHSAA Foundation are proud to announce that twenty-four member schools across the state have been selected to receive an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

“The presence of an AED in each school, at each athletic event, could save the life of your child, your grandchild, or your neighbor’s
child,” says Phil Eskew, M.D., Chair of the IHSAA Foundation Board of Directors and Professor Emeritus, IU School of Medicine, “it is
imperative that schools are provided with support to improve response time when seconds count.”

In concert with CPR and an efficient, practiced Emergency Action Plan (EAP), an AED has been shown to be an important factor in
saving the lives of student-athletes, parents, fans, and all in attendance at events.

This is the first year of the IHSAA Foundation’s AED Grant and the second grant offered by the IHSAA Foundation in the 2024-25
School Year.
