Texas No. 1 in first 2025 NFCA/GoRout DI Top 25 Coaches Poll of the regular season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  Texas opened its campaign with six wins and is the No. 1 team in the first 2025 NFCA/GoRout Division Top 25 Coaches Poll of the regular season. The Longhorns (6-0) picked up nine more first-place votes (24) and collected 767 points with Florida (6-0) moving ahead of Oklahoma for the No. 2 position with six first-place votes and 730 points. The Sooners (6-0) nabbed the final first-place vote and totaled 727 points.

 

Texas opened its campaign with three shutout victories over Longwood, St. John’s and at then-RV Louisiana and St. John’s followed two more road triumphs against Lamar and Sam Houston, along with a neutral site triumph versus Tulsa. The Longhorns open up at home this upcoming weekend, hosting the Bevo Classic with Maryland, UMass and No. 11 Texas Tech.

 

The Gators and Sooners also opened up with six wins last week. UF opened with a home shutout of North Florida before taking all five matchups at the USF/Rawlings Invitational, outscoring its opposition 45-8 and registering two more shutouts versus Georgia Southern and the host Bulls. OU headed out to the West Coast and of those six wins, two were in extra innings at RV San Diego State (9 inn.) and at Long Beach State (11 inn.).

 

The 2025 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll is voted on by 31 NCAA Division I head coaches with one representing each of the NCAA’s Division I Conferences. Polls will be released Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. throughout the regular season. Records reflect games played through Feb. 9, 2025.
