LAST FOUR STANDING

Jeffersonville (24-5): Tre Singleton erupted for 26 points as the No. 7 Red Devils earned their first state title since 1993 and ended top-ranked and defending state champion Fishers’ 43-game winning streak with 67-66 overtime victory in the Class 4A finale.

Manchester (26-2): Kaleb Kline contributed five points and four rebounds in the No. 3 Squires’ 59-54 win over University in the Class 2A state championship game.

Orleans (25-4): Alex DeWitt poured in 24 points in the No. 4 Bulldogs’ 64-55 triumph over No. 3 Clinton Prairie for the Class 1A state title.

Saint Joseph (27-3): Chase Konieczny netted 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the No. 2 Huskies held on for a 56-52 win over No. 8 Indianapolis Crispus Attucks for the Class 3A state championship,

SECOND BEST

Clinton Prairie (26-3): Nick Curtin accounted for 10 points for the Gophers against Orleans.

Fishers (30-1): Jason Gardner Jr. came up 15 points for the Tigers against Jeffersonville.

Indianapolis Crispus Attucks (22-7): Kayden English closed with 13 points for the Tigers against Saint Joseph.

University (20-10): Max McComb’s 16 points were not enough for the Trailblazers against Manchester.

FINAL SENSATIONAL SEVEN

  1. Saint Joseph (27-3): After finishing as Class 3A state runner-up a year ago, the Huskies returned to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to finish the job this time.
  2. Riley (22-5): In addition to capturing the Northern Indiana Conference and Class 4A sectional title, the Wildcats also claimed their first regional crown since 2018.
  3. Warsaw (25-5): The No. 9 Tigers earned not only the Northern Lakes Conference title, but their second straight Class 4A sectional championship as well.
  4. Northridge (21-4): The No. 9 (Class 4A) Raiders’ four losses came to Class 4A sectional and regional champion Riley, 2023 Class 3A state champion NorthWood, and twice to two-time Class 4A sectional champion Warsaw.
  5. Jimtown (16-11): The Jimmies celebrated their first Class 2A sectional and regional titles since winning the 2004 state championship.
  6. NorthWood (19-5): The Panthers have now recorded double-digit wins for 15 consecutive campaigns.
  7. Tippecanoe Valley (20-6): The Vikings earned the first Indiana Northern State Conference title and picked up 20 wins for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

MATT’S MATCHUPS WRAPUP

Although the 2024-25 campaign ended on a sour note by going 1-3 (25 percent) mark in the state finals, I still finished with an overall record of 394-96, which allowed me to achieve my goal of 80 percent.
