IWU’s Reep Named CL’s Athletic Trainer of the Year

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced on Wednesday that Nathan Reep of Indiana Wesleyan University had been named its 2024-2025 Athletic Trainer of the Year. The award is in its third year of existence for the Crossroads League.

“I am incredibly honored to be named the Crossroads League Athletic Trainer of the Year,” said Reep. “I sincerely thank the athletic trainers across the league for this recognition. It has been a privilege to interact and work alongside so many of you, and this award means even more coming from my peers. I am grateful for the incredible staff I work with each day. Their support, encouragement and example have shaped me into the athletic trainer I am today. I also want to thank the administration and athletic department at Indiana Wesleyan University for prioritizing the care of our student-athletes, and my family for their constant support, encouragement and the sacrifices they make to allow me to do what I love. Above all, I give thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the gifts He has given me, the opportunities He provides, and the strength He gives each day. All glory to Him.”

Reep has served at Indiana Wesleyan for nearly a decade after joining the Wildcats in 2016. Reep provides medical services for the IWU men’s basketball program, while also serving as the Clinical Education Coordinator for Athletic Training Education.

Prior to coming to Indiana Wesleyan, Reep held positions at Mansfield Christian High School, Bethel High School and Premier Health in Dayton, Ohio.

Reep earned a degree in communication from Geneva College in 2010, before completing his master’s degree in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University in 2015. Reep recently completed his doctorate in Athletic Training from the University of Idaho in 2023.

“Nathan has served the IWU community and the IWU athletic department faithfully and with distinction for many years,” said IWU Director of Athletics Deane Webb. “His desire to serve both the athletes in his care as well as athletic trainers that are beginning their careers is obvious to all who see him work. When I think of Nathan, I think of a blend of extreme professionalism and a true servant leader. We are thankful he serves in our department, and I would like to congratulate him for being selected by his peers for this award.”

The Crossroads League Athletic Trainer-of-the-Year award was voted on by Athletic Trainers from the Crossroads League.
