GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–On Wednesday evening, the Bethel Pilots (4-1-1) defeated the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles (1-3) 2-0 at the Cornerstone University Soccer Stadium.
The Pilots previously defeated Cornerstone with the same 2-0 outcome on September 11th of 2024.
Graduate Forward Grace Beck scored her first goal of the 2025 season in the 24th minute of the match, assisted by Karly Harkness.
Bethel’s goalkeeper, Meghan Kiebel was perfect for 90 minutes in between the pipes in picking up the victory.
Following Beck’s goal, the Pilot offense continued to dominate in the first. Within three minutes of Beck’s goal, Leena Thomas hit the back of the net for a 2-0 Bethel lead, assisted by Lisa Droz-Vincent.
In the second half of the evening, the Pilots took six additional shots, but to no avail. Cornerstone’s Corinne McGlassion totaled four saves.
The Bethel Pilots will next compete at Morey Field on Saturday, Sept. 13th. They will face the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils (1-1-1) at noon.
