GOSHEN, Ind. —The Bethel Pilots (10-8, 2-3) swept the Goshen College Maple Leafs (5-10, 1-4) in the Ruth Gunden Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

Haley Johnson led the team in service aces (three) with Ainsley Tacke posting two.

Haley Biedenbach totaled 32 assists and one service ace.

Paige Franz recorded four assists and eight digs in the three set matchup.

In the opening set, the teams were fairly matched until Bethel pulled away with a significant eight-point run, concluding with two attacking errors by Goshen (18-6).

Ary Searle recorded the final kill of the set for a 25-10 first set score.

In the middle of the third, the Pilots were down 10-9, but once again demonstrated offensive consistency. Sophia Beeson terminated a set from Biedenbach to tie the score (10-10) before Bethel’s five-point run ended with a service ace from Haley Johnson

Johnson shared, “Tonight’s much needed win against Goshen was such a fun game, filled with love and joy as we played on the court together!”

Head Coach Erica Dregits shared, “Different players stepped up at key moments. What I’m most excited about is the way we supported one another on and off the court—that’s what makes this group special. We’ll celebrate these wins, but we’ll also get back to work and keep building on the momentum.”

The Pilots will host the Grace College Lancers (10-7, 3-2) this Saturday, Sept. 20 in the Gates Gymnasium at 1:00 PM.
