Taylor Blasts Judson for Third-Straight Win
ELGIN, Ill. – RV Taylor had no trouble dispatching of Judson on Saturday, putting the game away early and cruising to a 63-7 win to spoil the Homecoming festivities for the host Eagles (0-4).
TU racked up its seventh win in its last eight outings dating back to a 4-0 finish to the 2024 campaign. Taylor set 2025 season highs with 637 total yards of offense and 259 passing yards in the road rout and also posted its best showing on the defensive side of the ball, with seven sacks, 13 hits for lost yardage and only 164 yards allowed.
The Trojans dominated both sides of the ground game, averaging 6.3 yards per carry on their way to 378 yards on the ground, giving TU 758 rushing yards over its last two outings. On defense, TU held Judson to negative-26 yards on the ground.
The outcome of the game was never in doubt, with Taylor racing to a 35-0 lead and maintaining a 49-7 advantage at the break.
Aidan Zimmer opened the scoring with a 65-yard touchdown reception, before TU erupted for 35 points in the second quarter. Reid Messer highlighted that outburst with an 80-yard touchdown return on a missed field goal for a 21-0 lead, and Nathan Parker added another long scoring play with a 61-yard touchdown sprint for a 42-7 cushion.
Damon Hockett paced the diverse offensive attack with seven completions for 182 yards and one touchdown through the air, while rushing for two additional scores.
Parker led four Trojans with double-digit carries, posting 12 touches for 136 yards and two touchdowns, while Brayden Mitchum took 14 carries for 88 yards and one score. Jedidiah Galvin also got in on the action with 11 carries for 64 yards and Ethan Albert checked in with 11 rushes for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Zimmer led the Taylor wideouts with three catches for 91 yards and a score.
Seth Tolliver ignited the TU defense with three sacks and four hits for negative yardage among his seven tackles, with Luke Graft joining him with a team-leading seven stops. Caleb Ranzau added two sacks and Preston Montgomery finished with one.
RV Taylor (3-1) will return to action on Saturday, October 4, when it hosts RV Saint Francis (3-1) inside Turner Stadium for a 1:00 pm start. The game will highlight TU’s 2025 Homecoming Weekend.
