NOTES:
Top-ranked Ohio State has been the most consistent team in college football this season, as the Buckeyes hold firm at No. 1 for an eighth straight week in the FWAA/NFF Super 16 Poll—the entire regular season.

No. 2 Indiana, also from the Big Ten, remains unbeaten, and the SEC’s No. 3 Texas A&M survived a scare at Arkansas on Saturday to stay perfect. Georgia Tech and BYU are the other unbeatens in the poll.

It is noteworthy that Indiana and Texas A&M have achieved their highest rankings in the history of the poll. The Big Ten and SEC each have three teams among the top six.

Losers in the poll over the weekend included Miami (FL), Ole Miss, Texas Tech (all previously unbeaten), and LSU, which fell out of the poll after a loss at Vanderbilt. Tennessee, which was beaten by Alabama, also dropped out. Vanderbilt moved into the poll at No. 10 after beating LSU.

Louisville jumped into the poll at No. 16 after upsetting Miami (FL) on Friday night. The Hurricanes fell from second to ninth, and Texas Tech dropped from seventh to No. 14 after losing at Arizona State—major moves for both.

The SEC leads all conferences with seven teams in the poll, followed by the Big Ten and ACC with three each, the Big 12 with two, and the Independents with one.

ABOUT THE FWAA-NFF SUPER 16 POLL:
The FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll was established at the conclusion of the 2013 season by long-time partners, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF). Voters rank the top 16 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, and the results will be released every Sunday of the 2025 season; the individual votes of all members will also be made public. The first regular season poll will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 2 (to account for Labor Day games), and the final poll will be released Sunday, Dec. 7. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective. The poll utilizes a computer program designed by Sports Systems, a TicketManager company, to compile the rankings and the Cody Kellner Points Index to publish the individual votes.
