FORT WAYNE, Ind. — IU South Bend men’s basketball fell 90-67 on the road Tuesday night at the University of Saint Francis (Ind.), closing out their first road trip of the young season. The loss evens the Titans’ record at 1-1.

IU South Bend opened the game strong, racing out to a 10-2 lead behind early buckets from Collin Schmidt and Kyle Millender. The Titans maintained control for much of the first half, stretching their lead to as many as 11 before the Cougars rallied. Saint Francis closed the half on a 17-7 run to take a 38-34 advantage into the locker room.

Saint Francis carried that momentum into the second half, outscoring IU South Bend 52-33 over the final 20 minutes. IU South Bend struggled to get the offense going, shooting 32.4 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from beyond the arc in the second half.

Schmidt led the Titans on the night with 19 points, eight rebounds, and four steals, while Millender and CJ Hornbeak each reached double figures with 11 points. Kyle Olagbegi chipped in 11 points and five made free throws off the bench, and Mark White pulled down six rebounds to go with four points.

IU South Bend outscored Saint Francis 38-24 in the paint, but the Cougars capitalized on Titan turnovers, turning 12 miscues into 18 points. Saint Francis also held a 43-31 rebounding edge and posted 22 bench points to the Titans’ 18.

The Titans return home Wednesday, November 12 to face Bethel at the Student Activities Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
