ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. — The Bethel Pilots (2-0) defeated the Rochester Christian Warriors (2-1) 88-77 on Friday night in the Chick-Fil-A of Auburn Hills Classic at Garth Pleasant Arena.
‘
Luke McBride was the leading scorer with 16 points, shooting 7-12 (58%) from the floor.
Freshman Carter Kent led the team in assists (four) while totaling nine points.
Beau Jacquay and Austin Cripe each showcased seven boards.
Head Coach Steve Drabyn shared, “I liked our energy out of the gate, however (we) shot it poorly in the first half. We did a good job defensively in the half court in the first half with our bench giving us great minutes of defensive production. When the second half started, we found some rhythm with a couple different lineups that allowed us to dribble, penetrate, and create some mismatches.”
Drabyn continued, “Colin Comer got us going from the three, Carter Kent and Andrew Hedrick played great minutes at the point, and Jameir Jefferson gave us some great defensive production as well. Luke McBride played a great floor game. We look forward to competing again tomorrow against Michigan Dearborn.”
Tip-off against the Wolverines is set for 3 PM on Sat, Nov. 8. Michigan Dearborn currently stands at 1-2 and gained their lone win over IU Kokomo (92-83).
