Back-to-Back Double-Doubles Earns Jesse Washington NAIA Offensive Player of the Week Honors
Kansas City, Mo. – Jesse Washington of Williams Baptist (Ark.) went off in back-to-back games last week for his second and third double-doubles this season, earning the Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Washington has proven to be WBU’s leader when he is on, as the Eagles are 5-0. The second leading player in the NAIA for points per game (30.8) shot nearly 60% from the floor last week, 59.6% to be exact, and put up 31 and 43 points. He was also locked in from deep, shooting a collective 38.9% on the week. He didn’t just score; Washington also played a pivotal role at the rim with 23 total boards (12 offensive, 11 defensive).
Washington’s weekly totals: 66 minutes played, 23 boards, three assists, three steals, and a staggering 74 total points.
Gared Performance Sports Systems NAIA Men’s Basketball Offensive Players of the Week are announced every Tuesday throughout the season, with the final player of the week for the first half of the season being released on December 9.
