Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | November 24-30
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top individual performances from November 24 through 30. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.
Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Emma Sperry, Grace
Sperry poured in 36 points for Grace in its 111-95 win over IU-Columbus. The sophomore forward drilled eight triples in the contest and dished out five assists to go with four steals and seven rebounds.
Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Braylin Terrell, Grace
Terrell filled the box score for Grace in its 111-95 win against IU-Columbus, ending the game with 22 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal. Of her 16 rebounds, nine came on the defensive glass.
Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Alonas Peciulis, Bethel
Peciulis powered No. 11 Bethel to a 99-82 win at St. Mary-Woods with 22 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one block. The senior forward hit nine-of-16 shots in his 25 minutes of action for the Pilots.
Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Dante Favor, Spring Arbor
Favor continued his stellar work on the defensive end for Spring Arbor, this time posting four blocks, two steals and four defensive rebounds for the Cougars in a 93-59 win over Great Lakes Christian.
