RV Bethel Men’s Volleyball sweeps Judson in home opener

MISHAWAKA, Ind. —The RV Bethel Pilots (2-0) swept the Judson University Eagles (3-2) in three sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) on Saturday afternoon in the Goodman Gymnasium. 

Thomas Dunkley led the team in kills with 11, hitting at a 0.529 hitting efficiency for the Bethel offense. The junior added six blocks alongside five digs. 

Ling Pak Him was a force behind the service line, coupling two aces with seven kills for the Pilots. 

Santana Roybal-Benson led the PIlots in blocks (seven), while McGwire Eigenrauch posted 30 assists. 

The Pilots commenced the match with two earned points, gaining an early 2-0 lead with a termination by Ling Pak Him, followed by a double block by Santana Roybal-Benson and Christian Woumnga

A six-point run at the conclusion of the first sealed the first set for Bethel, followed by consecutive kills from Jibbe Boeren and Santana-Roybal Benson (25-13).

Bethel’s blocking gave the Pilots a huge advantage over the Eagles, who recorded two blocks to Bethel’s 15. 

While Judson took the lead for the first time in the match in the third, the Pilots battled back for a 25-18 set three win. 

The Bethel Pilots will next faceoff with Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Opponent Goshen College (4-5) in the Ruth Gunden Gymnasium on Tuesday, Feb. 3. First serve is set for 7 PM.
